John's Favourite Sites on the Internet

Melon King probably doesn't need an introduction, at least among NeoCitizens. His site is a treasure trove of useful information, games, gimmicks, and links to even more great content. There's just so much to discover!
Cameron's World is a huge, colourful collection of gifs, graphics, and archived personal websites from GeoCities. And it has a banging soundtrack. Fun for hours.
The Monastary of St. Blamensir, also somewhat of a NeoCities celebrity, is one of the prettiest websites I've ever seen. Styled like medieval manuscript illuminations, you can explore the monastary grounds to find out about all the webmaster's cool creative projects.
Don Worth's Personal Home Page is just a real old-web site of a really interesting and accomplished person I found while surfing the web. Metal head, reenactor, father, role-player, and more—I somehow felt very connected with this internet stranger. His home page heavily influenced the creation of my own page.
Ismail's Website is ... incredible. Doesn't look like much at first glance but have a look around, trust me. A lesson on web design history.
Mudflower's swamp is very fun to explore. Whimsical, imaginative, so beautiful I'm getting emotional. Visit the Blacksmith to get a sword!
Helpful Resources

Briar's Personal Site links to many interesting projects of briar.dev, most importantly to the free HypnOS themed fonts Briar has created, one of which I'm using on my homepage.
Betty's Graphics is a curated collection of gifs and graphics. I especially liked the 'Web Graphics' and used some of them for this page.
The Horror Gif Necronomicon is a beautifully curated horror/gothic themed collection of gifs, backgrounds, dividers, midi sounds, and more. Great resource for edgy goth teenagers, such as I was myself.
Barry Taylor's Traditional Tunebook is a huge collection of midi folk tunes played by Barry Taylor, who kindly gave permission for them to be used as background music for personal websites.
'Dither it!' is an online tool to reduce the number of colours and thus the file size of a picture, which is useful if you have limited web space and also makes photographs look cool and nostalgic. : P
The '88x31px Button Generator' by datakra.sh is a handy tool to ... well, generate 88x31px buttons. I used it to quickly generate buttons I used on this website.
Melon Land again, sorry. : P But this guide on how to build your own web page was extremely helpful to me, so if you're as clueless as I was, this is a good place to start.
